Holiday Pillowcases

• 1 yard of Holiday fabric (42" to 45" wide)
• Sewing machine
• Matching thread (match to background color)
• Measuring tape
• Straight pins
• Iron

• Standard pillows are generally 20" x 26" in size and ideally a pillowcase should be 4" to 6" wider than the pillow end.
• Cotton or cotton-blend fabrics are better and easier to sew.
• Wash and dry the fabrics before you start stitching the pillowcase.
• Cut a piece of 38" x 42" fabric in rectangular shape.
• Allow for 1/2" seams.
• Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise.
• Fold on the shorter edges and hem it.
• Press wrong sides together.
• Pin on one side after ensuring that band stitching line and edges are matching perfectly.
• Stitch the edges together.
• Trim the corners and turn the pillowcase right side out and your holiday pillowcase is ready.
